Roooommmmbbbaaa!

Yay! We got a Roomba! This one! I love it! But, it took some work boys and girls. Hard work.

So, as you all know, Hubby is super cheap. When I first explained the concept of the Roomba to him, the wonderful-ness of it all was lost on him. It didn't help that the stupid thing cost about 6 times what he was willing to pay for any sweeping/vacuuming device.

He was in charge of purchasing our last vacuum cleaner. It requires a bag. When the vacuum bag got full I asked him where he put the other bags. He looked at me blankly. Then he explained to me, very slowly and in great detail, that he did not buy any bags. Why would he, when they gave him one with the vacuum, and you can just keep emptying that one over and over? Duh.

Yeah, so it took some work. I started out by asking. Then proceeded on to whining, begging, wheedling, crying, and yelling. Nothing worked. Until today.

We had to go to the office so I could drop some conference stuff off. Hubby administered a poll while in the office. Everyone agreed that we should have a Roomba, except the one lone male (i.e.-idiot) that works there.

Hubby told me that LJ had his back. I asked him how much help LJ would be with his back if I had already ripped his head off.

We bought a Roomba!

Enjoy your new toy/cleaning device! We love ours. We even named him.

And before you laugh, just you try not to name that adorable piece of time-saving technology after it does it's little "Time to Clean" song and then finishes with the "I'm all Done!" song. If you don't name it after that, you are heartless. HEARTLESS, I say!

I am heartless. He needs a name right now. He is currently the most useful member of our family.

Reading

Books of Booky Past: these are books that I have recently (or not so recently) read, and recommend.

the plain truth: jodi picoult
This book provided a wealth of information about the Amish community. It was wonderful.

the time traveler's wife: audrey niffenegger (sp?)
This book is like the movie Serendipity. Wow! the first time around, still pretty great for consequent readings.

Present Booky Books: do I really need to explain what this is?

dragon haven: robin hobb
Yeah, it's fantasy. So is Edward Cullen.

Books of the Future: Oooooo!
