Wallpaper. And manufacturers of wallpaper. And sellers of wallpaper. And people who think it is a good idea to put wallpaper on walls.
I was all excited today, because I got to start the Great Project: painting my mom's new office for her. I love to paint.
Turns out I do not love to take down wallpaper. And it is only a little bit a wallpaper comparatively speaking. It is a border. I am thanking my lucky stars that it was not the entire room. But it took me hours to not quite finish taking down the border on one wall. The smallest wall.
Do you think my mom would notice if I just painted over the border and called it a day? Well, yeah, I guess she would since she reads this blog. Nevermind.
in my in-laws house, there is wallpaper in the bathroom that is green and has scary birds all over it. Who would ever think that was a good idea? (It was there when they bought the house, in their defense).
You hardly ever see paint jobs that are quite as tacky as a lot of wallpaper out there.
I saw this morning show special on wallpaper with a representative from the Wallpaper Counsel or something saying how "Wallpaper can be hip, and manufactorers understand that we're over the flowers and stripes crap." But I'm not convinced. Even if she has some mod, 60's prints in her bag o' tricks, what happens when I want to switch it up in a couple of years? Pain. Nothing but.

Reading
Books of Booky Past: these are books that I have recently (or not so recently) read, and recommend.
the plain truth: jodi picoult This book provided a wealth of information about the Amish community. It was wonderful.
the time traveler's wife: audrey niffenegger (sp?) This book is like the movie Serendipity. Wow! the first time around, still pretty great for consequent readings.
Present Booky Books: do I really need to explain what this is?
dragon haven: robin hobb Yeah, it's fantasy. So is Edward Cullen.
Books of the Future: Oooooo!
